Rochelle Park Student Wins Speech Competition PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College student Maycie Schmidt, of Rochelle Park, won the president's award for best speaker at the school's ninth annual speech competition. Schmidt presented "Fair Trade," which examined how consumers can make a difference in the developing world by purchasing sustainably grown and acquired goods. She competing against 49 other students for $3,000 in scholarships in the competition sponsored by the Bergen Community College Foundation.
