Ridgewood Health Department Offers Free Rabies Clinic RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Ridgewood Health Department is offering residents an annual free dog rabies clinic on Wednesday, May 11 -- and rabies vaccinations are required to get the required dog license. Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and leashed or in a carrier. New Jersey law requires owners of all dogs seven months old and older to be registered with the town they live in. To get a license, the owner must present proof that a licensed vet has vaccinated the dog against rabies, and that vaccination is good until May 1, 2017.
