RINGWOOD, N.J. -- The Skyline Lake Fire Department is hosting its 11th Annual Indoor/Outdoor Craft and Vendor Show, on Saturday, May 14 -- and it's a major pet adoption event, as well.More than 50 crafters and 11 rescue groups or shelters are attending, including Southern Paws, Foster's Future, Diamonds in a Ruff and All Humane Animal Rescue.
A wide variety of non-furry items will also be available, including

Oradell Swim Club Opens Season On May 28
ORADELL, N.J. -- The Oradell Swim Club opens on Saturday, May 28, and it's holding an open house on Sunday, June 5.The swim club is located on Ridgewood Avenue, in Oradell. It's a private club, open to residents of all towns.
"Enjoy the fine landscaped grounds with four pools, lawn chairs, picnic area and changing facilities," its website notes. "Members can take pleasure in swim lessons, lap swimming, games and other planned social events."

Mahwah Museum Presents 'The Story Of The Ramsey Journal'
MAHWAH, N.J. -- Tom Dunn will present "The Story of the Ramsey Journal" at the Mahwah Museum on Sunday, May 15.
Tom Dunn, former archive director of the museum, will discuss the history of the Ramsey Journal. John Dater II established the paper in 1892, bringing news to Northwest Bergen County.
"For 75 years, until the paper was sold in 1967, three generations of the Dater family chronicled the births, deaths and marriages, triumphs and defeats, trials and controversies of the communities it served," a news release noted.

Leonia Church Garage Sale Will Benefit Ugandan Kids
LEONIA, N.J. -- The Presbyterian Church in Leonia is sponsoring a Japanese, Korean and American garage sale to raise funds for the children of Uganda on Saturday, May 21. Sellers are wanted, in the meantime."Uganda has suffered severe trouble due to war and AIDS," organizers note. "Many children have lost parents and cannot attend school due to the cost, and many do not have things we consider basic in the United States, such as shoes."
The money raised will be used for school supplies, clothes, mosquito nets for the children, medicines and more.

Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club Plant Sale Set For May 14
HO-HO-KUS, N.J. -- The public is welcome to come buy plants at the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club's plant sale on Saturday, May 14."Come early for the best selections of home-grown perennials, a variety of assorted plantings, annuals, herbs, gently used garden-related treasures and art, along with delicious bake sale goodies," organizers noted in an April Facebook post.
