Englewood's Community Chest Organizes Spring Fundraiser
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- The Community Chest, a nonprofit which serves Englewood, Englewood Cliffs and Tenafly, will present its spring fundraising event on Thursday, May 5, at the Knickerbocker Country Club.
In addition to honoring community volunteers, the event will feature both silent and live auctions, cocktails, a buffet dinner, and a performance by the Young People's Chorus @ Thurnauer.

Lester Robert Jacoby, 79, Englewood Resident
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Lester Robert Jacoby, of Englewood, died on Sunday, April 17. He was 79.
A U.S. Army veteran, Jacoby retired from Cohen Express Trucking as vice president. Prior to that, he was a police officer in Jersey City, a private investigator and a talent manager for many years. He was an active supporter of the Police Athletic League.

Frances 'Babe' Chinni, 95, Former Lodi Resident
LODI, N.J. -- Frances "Babe" (Lascari) Chinni -- a Bay Harbor Island, Florida, formerly of Lodi -- died on Sunday, April 17. She was 95.
Before retiring, Chinni was the owner-operator of Master's Beauty Academy in Passaic, John Francis Salon in Paramus and the Playgirl Salon in Miami Beach.
She is survived by son, John Chinni. She was the dear sister of the late Henrietta Comp, Angie Rinaldi and Millie Villareal, and Sal, Vito and Andrew Lascari. Chinni was predeceased by her husband, John, and their daughter, Kathleen "Kathi" Hildes.
