New Milford Student Wins With 'Bottled' NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- New Milford High School student Sarah Almeda won first place in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest.Almeda won the county-level contest with her oil painting, "Bottled" -- which portrayed a soldier stuck in a bottle, as a metaphor for issues of post-traumatic stress disorder. She will now compete at the state level -- and potentially at the national level.
