Ridgewood Baseball Has Pitch Hit & Run Competition RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The "Pitch Hit & Run" competition is returning to Ridgewood on Saturday, May 7. New Milford Student Wins With 'Bottled' NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- New Milford High School student Sarah Almeda won first place in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest.Almeda won the county-level contest with her oil painting, "Bottled" -- which portrayed a soldier stuck in a bottle, as a metaphor for issues of post-traumatic stress disorder. She will now compete at the state level -- and potentially at the national level.

Rutherford Recognizes Former BOE Member With Tree Planting RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rutherford had an Arbor Day Ceremony, on Saturday, April 23, with a memorial tree planting in front of Union School. The tree was planted in memory of Thom Casadonte, former board member of the Rutherford Board of Education. "May it grow tall and strong, and always be a symbol of Thom Casadonte's purpose, giving spirit, leadership and community service to the borough of Rutherford," said Theresa Casadonte, his widow.
