Dominick F. Leon, 88, Longtime Wood-Ridge Resident
WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- Dominick F. Leon, a longtime Wood-Ridge resident, died on Saturday, April 30. He was 88.
An Army Corporal in World War II, Leon worked for Truckers Teamsters Union Local 560 and was a self-employed contractor. He was an accomplished mason, carpenter and builder. He enjoyed stained glass work, his garden and his family.
Leon was active in the American Legion and the VFW post, both in Wood-Ridge. Until recently, he made trips to the VA Home in Paramus, to visit "the guys." He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady, in Wood-Ridge, …

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Josephine M. "Jay" (Roma) Gurrisi, of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Saturday, April 30. She was 94.
Born in Hackensack, Gurrisi was a seamstress before she retiried. She was a former member of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club in Hasbrouck Heights.
She is survived by her children, Charles Gurrisi and his wife Jo Ann of Lodi, and Lucille (Gurrisi) Calabrese of Hasbrouck Heights; grandchildren Jeffrey, Tricia-Marie, Toni-Lyn and Nicole; great-grandchildren Matthew Ryan, Jacob Patrick and Abigail Marie; and nieces and nephews.

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Giuseppa (Ali) Manchesi, of Hackensack, died on Saturday, April 30. She was 85.
Born in Italy, Manchesi was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Hackensack.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth and Peter Manchesi, both of Hackensack. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Manchesi.

Finocchiaro is survived by her children, Frank, Grace Lutwyler, and Ann Margret Timpanaro and her husband Louis; grandchildren Kirk and Craig Lutwyler, Lauren Sikora and Tess Finocchiaro, and Julia, Jessica, Matthew and Erica Timpanaro; great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Daisy Lutwyler, and Madison Sikora; and many relatives and friends.

PAWS For Reading Returns To Clifton's Allwood Branch
CLIFTON, N.J. -- This Tuesday, May 3, PAWS for Reading returns to the Allwood Branch of the Clifton Library. The program is for kids 5 and up who can read independently. In addition, a library card in good standing is required.
