Haworth Boy Wins Poster Contest HAWORTH, N.J. -- Nicolas Lewis was honored for his winning poster at the Haworth mayor and council meeting, on Tuesday, May 10.More than 6,000 New Jersey fourth-graders participated in a Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey poster contest. The theme of the contest was "Fun Things to Do Instead Of Doing Drugs." Thirty finalists were recognized at an award ceremony on April 27. Nicolas and Liandra Taylor were the overall winners of the contest. Nicholas attends Haworth Public School, in Bergen County. Liandra attends Saint Michael School, in Essex County. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can put a variety of harder-to-dispose-of items out on the curb for pickup. These include bulky waste items such as furniture, toys and computer equipment; general household items; yard waste, including tree and shrub branches, cut to no longer than 2-3 feet and bundled; and any other unwanted items. In the final WordMasters meet of the school year, only 13 fifth-graders in the nation achieved this honor.
