Wyckoff Honors Fallen Soldiers With Gold Stars On Street Signs WYCKOFF, N.J. -- With Memorial Day approaching, the Township of Wyckoff is reminding residents of the steps it's taken to honor fallen servicemen on an ongoing basis, through street signs.The township "has named streets after residents who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died fighting for the freedoms we enjoy," officials noted. These street signs have a gold star to signify this designation, and the signs also have red, white and blue markers, which list the soldiers' full names and the wars in which they perished. Born and raised in Jersey City, Walsh lived in Fair Lawn for 57 years. She was a parishioner of St. Anne Church, in Fair Lawn. An avid traveler, she enjoyed playing golf, tennis and bridge. Hawthorne Christian Students Excel In Music Competition HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Hawthorne Christian Academy received several awards in the 2016 Music in the Parks Competition. The Chorale, Servants of the King and Handbells received the highest rating possible, "Superior," the school noted in a Saturday Facebook post.
