Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi Speaks To New Milford Girl Scouts NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi was the keynote speaker at the New Milford Girl Scouts Award Ceremony, on Tuesday, May 17. In all, 28 scouts received awards -- including three Gold Awards, the highest award in Girl Scouting. Schepisi represents District 39, which includes Bergen and Passaic counties. Coffee House Open Mic Heads To Lyndhurst Pacc LYNDHURST, N.J. -- The Lyndhurst Polish American Citizens Club is hosting a Coffee House Open Mic on Friday, May 20.The event is open to the public. The lineup is already be full -- mostly through the Facebook event page -- but come for both entertainment and goodies. The $5 admission covers not only the show but also coffee, snacks and baked goods. There will also be karaoke, after the performances. The doors open at 7:30 p.m., performances begin and the cash bar opens at 8 p.m., and the event may run past midnight. The PACC is located at 730 New Jersey Ave., in Lyndhurst.

Boys and girls from grades K-8 are welcome to sign up. Here are the divisions: Mighty Mites, for K-2; Pee Wees, for grades 3-4; Juniors, for grades 5-6; and Seniors, for grades 7-8. PSE&G Upgrades Continue In North Haledon, Will Be Completed In The Fall NORTH HALEDON, N.J. -- Into the fall, PSE&G will continue working to replace approximately 19 miles of aging cast-iron gas pipes in North Haledon.The old pipes and mains will be replaced with new, durable plastic or coated steel piping. Work will done Monday through Saturday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., weather permitting. The work began this months, and while the main work should be done by August, it will be into fall before all the repaving is finished. You can view more project details here. Closter Fire Prevention Bureau Provides Safety Tips CLOSTER, N.J. -- At the Closter PTO Annual Spring Fair, held at Tenakill Middle School, the Closter Fire Prevention Bureau provided fire safety education. Senior Fire Inspector Michael Hunken and firefighter Sean Foley advised kids on various home fire safety practices -- who also got a tour through a smoke-filled house.
