Happy Birthday To North Haledon's Nellie Pou
NORTH HALEDON, N.J. -- Happy birthday to North Haledon resident Nelida "Nellie" Pou, New Jersey Senator for the 35th Legislative District. She will be 60 on Friday, May 20.
She has served in the state Senate since 2012. Previously, she represented the 35th District in the General Assembly. Pou was appointed to fill Bill Pascrell's seat in 1997, after he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Pou's district includes Paterson, Haledon, North Haledon, Prospect Park, Garfield and Elmwood Park.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- As part of the Multicultural Celebration Series, the Austrian Boys Band will be performing in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, June 11.The event will celebrate Austrian and German culture, with traditional music and refreshments. Happy Birthday To Hackensack's James McEachin
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Happy birthday to veteran, actor and author, Hackensack's James McEachin. He will be 86 on Friday, May 20.
McEachin was in the U.S. Army before and during the Korean War. He was awarded both the Purple Heart and Silver Star. After his military service, he was a fireman and then a policeman in Hackensack, before moving to California.
