Keep Rockland Beautiful Gala To Honor Businesses, Educators
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Keep Rockland Beautiful is holding its Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 7-10 p.m. at the HNA Palisades Premier Conference Center in Palisades.
The event, which also serves as the group's major fund-raising effort of the year, will include dinner, a world fusion performance by pianist John McDowell with Michael Wimberly on the djembe, an upcycled art and photography display, a silent auction and raffle.
A wine-tasting with Julie Belardinelli, independent wine ambassador at Boisset Wine Living, will be conducted an hour before the gala.

Man Had Marijuana, Suspended License In Nyack Traffic Stop, Police Say
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have charged a 28-year-old man with operating a vehicle without a valid license and possession of marijuana, police said.
The arrest came about when officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highland Avenue in Nyack on Thursday, around 8:16 a.m., according to police.
After investigating, officers discovered the driver, identified as Michael Campolo of the Bronx, had been operating the vehicle while his license was suspended six times for failure to pay fines, police said.

Wayne Holocaust Survivor 'Never Forgets'
WAYNE, N.J. -- A Wayne Holocaust survivor will share his story of resistance on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 1-3 p.m. at Temple Beth Tikvah.
Eric Mayer and his brother lived through the Nazi terror of Kristallnacht in Worms, Germany, as children.
Throughout Gernany, on Nov. 9–10, 1938, Nazi paramilitary forces and German civilians torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. The name Kristallnacht comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets after windows were smashed.
