Come Hike Along The Morris Canal Greenway in May
TOTOWA, N.J. -- The Morris Canal Greenway Project is organizing a hike along the Morris Canal Greenway on Sunday, May 15.The hike will begin at noon, at the Mountain View New Jersey Transit station, in Wayne. Lodi Library Welcomes Red Bulls Goalkeeper Monday
LODI, N.J. -- This coming Monday, April 18, the Lodi Memorial Library will host Red Bulls II goalkeeper Rafael Diaz. A native of the Dominican Republic, Diaz also played college soccer for New York City's St. John's University. He will read to the kids, have a Q&A about his career and sign autographs. The session will run from 3:30-5 p.m. No registration is required, and light refreshments will follow the event. WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne's Schuyler-Colfax Middle School has been honored as a "Mix It Up Model School" for its efforts to foster respect and understanding among its students and on its campus during this academic year.This recognition is part of the Southern Poverty Law Center's Teaching Tolerance program. RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Clean out your closets and get a car wash on Sunday, April 24, supporting softball at Ridgewood High School. The event is gathering a variety of items that will be sent to support people in need of them across the globe, through Clothing Drive Fundraiser. It's an interesting way for items to get a second life. The organization says about 45 percent of collected textiles are reused as apparel, 30 percent are cut into rags and 20 percent is reprocessed into insulation. Spring Shredding And E-Waste Disposal Event Arrives In Totowa
TOTOWA, N.J. -- It's time to gather up your old papers and unused electronics, and the Borough of Totowa's Public Library will help dispose of them, on Saturday, April 30. The disposal truck will be in the back parking lot of the library, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a nominal charge for the disposal. The rain date is Sunday, May 1, with the same hours.
