Irvington Unveils New Track, Field At Homecoming
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Irvington Union Free School District administrators, community members, and current and past high school coaches held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the high school's new Meszaros Field and Oley Track on Oct. 1, prior to the start of the homecoming football game.
The track and field are named after two Irvington sports legends, Harold Meszaros and Peter K. Oley, who were both instrumental in the success of the athletic program in the school district.

LaGrange Man Caught With Several Pounds Of Pot, Marijuana Plants
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested a 50-year-old resident of Lagrangeville on a marijuana possession charge Thursday, state police said.
The suspect, identified as Michael Bott, was taken into custody following an investigation that resulted in the seizure of several marijuana plants and approximately 3.7 pounds of marijuana, according to state police.
Bott has been charged with possession of marijuana in the second degree, a class D felony, along with unlawful growing of cannabis, a class A misdemeanor, according to state police.

Former Stamford Resident Sentenced To 10 Years In Murder For Hire Scheme
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 30-year-old former resident of Stamford was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant to 120 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for orchestrating a murder for hire scheme, authorities said.
The defendant, Larry Talledo-Torrejon, a citizen of Peru last residing in Stamford, was also ordered to pay a $150,000 fine.

Garnerville Man Arrested With 74 Grams Of Marijuana, Police Say
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police have arrested a 21-year-old resident of Garnerville on drug charges, police said.
The arrest came about when officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Saturday, according to police.
During the investigation, the suspect, identified as Jhonny D. Betances, was found in possession of 74.9 grams of marijuana and numerous alprazolam pills, police said.
Betances has been charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, according to police.
