Temple Shooting: 28-Year-Old Federally Charged After Gunshots At NY Synagogue The man accused of opening fire at a New York synagogue on the first day of Hanukkah has been federally charged. Mufid Fawaz Alkhader, age 28, of Schenectady, appeared in Albany federal court on Friday, Dec. 8, where he was arraigned on one count of unlawfully possessing a firearm. Shoplifter Punches, Threatens To Stab Employee At Long Island Stop & Shop, Police Say Police are asking for help in identifying an alleged shoplifter accused of assaulting and threatening to stab an employee at a Long Island store. The incident happened at around 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 in Holbrook at the Stop & Shop on Sunrise Highway. Suffolk County Police said the man walked out of the store with approximately $225 worth of Tide Pods. Tips Sought After Sheep Found Tied To Tree In Wooded Area On Long Island Police are investigating after a sheep was found tied to a tree behind a vacant home on Long Island. A land surveyor spotted the animal shortly after noon on Thursday, Dec. 7, in a wooded area in East Moriches, along Evergreen Avenue.
