Gunshots, Then Crash: Car Slams Into Capital Region Home After Shooting Police are asking for tips after two people opened fire on a car in the region, causing the vehicle to crash into a house. The incident happened at around 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, in Schenectady, near Eastern and Elmer avenues. Schenectady Police said the vehicle was driving near the former Elmer Avenue Elementary School campus when two suspects walking nearby shot at the car.
