Car Crashes Into Woods In Carmel, Driver Hospitalized A driver was taken to a hospital after crashing their vehicle into the woods in Putnam County, causing a temporary road closure.  The crash happened on Sunday, March 30 at around 4:40 p.m., when a car crashed off-road in the area of 77 Drewville Rd. in Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  The driver of the vehicle was pulled out by responding fire crews and transported to a nearby hospital.  The road was closed for around 40 minutes on Sunday afternoon as crews conducted their investigation into the crash.
