Tree Falls Onto I-87 In NY, Causes Crash Emergency responders raced to the New York Thruway in Orange County over the weekend after a tree fell on the interstate, causing a crash in the process.  The incident happened on Saturday, July 5, when a tree collapsed into I-87 South in Woodbury near mile marker 47.1, according to the Woodbury Fire Department.  A car then collided with the tree. Minor injuries were reported.  The incident caused traffic backups in the area as crews responded to the crash.

Commercial Vehicle Strikes Overpass On Route 17 In NY, Forces Closure Traffic came to a halt in Orange County Thursday afternoon, July 3, after a commercial vehicle struck an overpass on Route 17, forcing a full eastbound closure.  According to an announcement by New York State Police at around 4 p.m., the crash happened on Thursday when the vehicle hit the Greenwich Avenue overpass on Route 17 eastbound near Exit 124 in Goshen.  All eastbound lanes of Route 17 were shut down, and traffic is being diverted at Exit 122A. Over 10K Without Power In This NY County In Widespread Outage (Developing) More than 10,000 customers are without power amid a widespread outage in Rockland County.  According to Orange & Rockland, just over 10,200 customers are without power in the county as of Thursday, July 3 at 4:30 p.m., with most outages within the town of Clarkstown.  The utility company lists the estimated time of restoration as 7 a.m. on Friday, July 4.  A cause for the outage has not yet been made available.  This is a developing story.
