Teen Charged In Fatal Jersey City Shooting Of 25-Year-Old Man Sylis Lopez, an 18-year-old Union City teenager was arrested and charged on Tuesday, August 22 as an accomplice in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Jersey City man back in January, authorities said. At 9:35 p.m. on Jan. 29, Jersey City police responded to a report of shots fired at Summit Avenue and Polar Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Poll Findings Reveal How NJ Parents Feel About Gender Identity Classes In Schools A new Monmouth University poll shows that a majority of parents are okay with their kids being taught gender identity, but only in high school. The poll, released Tuesday, Aug. 22, show that 64 percent of New Jersey parents approve of teaching students in grades 9 through 12 about the "range of ways people express their gender." Bye, Bye, Bischoff's: Popular Teaneck Ice Cream Shop To Shutter Just After Hopeful Revival It really was too good to be true. Bischoff's, the Teaneck ice cream institution, had reopened this summer as a pop-up after closing in 2022. On Tuesday, Aug. 22, the longtime Cedar Lane shop said it will close permanently on Sunday, Sept. 3 after nearly 90 years in business. Middle Finger Traffic Stop: Viral Video Sparks Investigation In North Jersey Town It's become the middle finger seen around the world. A traffic stop on Westfield is under investigation after a man said he was pulled over after flipping off a police officer. The traffic stop was recorded on Sunday, Aug. 6 and shared on YouTube where it has generated more than 370,000 views.
