Ridgewood Teachers Nearly A Year Without Contract, Rally Before BOE Meeting RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Teachers in Ridgewood have been working without a contract since June 2015, and teachers and communities members rallied before the Board of Education meeting last Monday, the Ridgewood News reported.The REA and BOE have been unable to agree on terms, and a mediator will soon provide non-binding recommendations, the Ridgewood News reported. Narkiewicz has been teaching for 17 years -- 11 of them as a kindergarten teacher in the East Rutherford School District. The award is based on her dedication to teaching the children of East Rutherford, demonstration of leadership qualities within the school and respect by the school community.
